This September we will be having our third Back to Church Sunday, so please begin to think and pray about who you might invite and bring along. It should really be on Sunday 30th September, but we already have that day booked for Harrison’s Baptism, so we will hold it the week before, and this will be at our 10.00 am service. We will aim to provide a visitor friendly service with a talk that expresses the heart of what it is to be a Christian.
Please pick up a Back to Church Sunday invitation card and fill in:

A few weeks back we had a great wedding for Rod Sarich and his Bride Becky Fowler. Rod plays for Sheffield Steelers and comes from Canada whilst Becky is a teacher. It was great to meet the family and friends, many of whom were church goers – which meant that the hymns went really well and the whole service had a wonderful atmosphere.

Next Sunday Jack Andrew is bringing his Olympic Torch to Church again, so do invite people along to see it. We hope to show a short video of Jack lighting the cauldron at Cleethorpes and I will talk about what we can learn from the Olympics.
I have also invited Helen Lawson who is Assistant Minister to Bruce Lloyd at the Church of the Nazarene. She has been instrumental in setting up a local Food Bank which is going to be launched this autumn. She will give us brief details on Sunday, but we will hear more about it at the next Churches Together service which will be at St Paul’s on Sunday 7th October at 6.00 pm.
