From
Murray Last
Sunday I was talking about the need to share in Jesus passion if we are to
fully experience the joy of his resurrection.
We all naturally recoil from the horror of the cross but with God’s help
we can allow ourselves to share in something of what Jesus went through. It may be our experiences in life can also help
us to share Jesus experience for we are often called to follow him in his
suffering. For the last couple of years
we have taken time to reflect on Jesus passion by meditating on Jana’s ‘station
of the cross’ pictures. This worked
extremely well last year when we focussed on the first half on Tuesday and the
second on Wednesday. The mood will be
lighter on Thursday for Passover, though we will be powerfully reminded of the
roots of Communion in the escape from Egypt.
On Friday we will return to Jesus passion as we hear again the gospel narrative,
this year from Matthew.
A
BIG THANK YOU to everyone who
gave up their Saturday morning last week and worked so hard on Spring Cleaning
the whole of the church in readiness for all our Easter Services and activities!

awaiting a decision about benefits, the family not able to give their child
birthday gifts and the client who might need help from another agency.
