TREFOIL GUILD With regret, Trefoil at St Paul’s has had to close owing to a lack of members.

THANK YOU KEN!  A big thank you to Ken and his team of helpers who brought the chairs up from the basement for Christmas and took them down again. Thanks to Pete for all the time spent scrubbing clean the basement chairs too. Ken has also worked wonders with the big cross and candle sticks. He has stripped them down and varnished them. They now look superb, so have a wander up to the chancel and have a look for yourself!

MEERSBROOK PARK UNITED REFORM CHURCH has arranged a concert entitled ‘Celebration of Faith’ by the United Christian Voices Choir, which includes some former members of the now disbanded Celebration Choir. The concert is to help them raise funds for fixtures and fittings for their lovely new Church and will be held on Saturday 29th January at 7.00 pm in the new premises. Please see posters around St Paul’s for further details.

THANK YOU Murray and Ann would like to thank people for their cards and good wishes over Christmas – they mean a lot!

From Murray’s Diary
Next week (24th Jan) I am going to Whirlow Grange for a couple of nights for a Clergy Conference!  Bishop Steven has called all vicars in the Diocese to these – I think there are four conferences in all, spread over a period of a few months, with about thirty of us attending each time.
The purpose is to inspire us in our ministry and help us learn from each other as we face the changes and challenges of serving God in our world today.  They are usually helpful events and a great chance of getting to know colleagues you might not otherwise meet.
Please pray for us that we would all be encouraged and return with new vision for our ministries.  I would particularly value your prayer as the conference will be very demanding upon me with my illness.  Please pray for wisdom as to which session to attend and for me to be realistic as to when I need to go and have a rest.  (It is hard to do this when you are in a session or enjoying a conversation with someone!)
