LENT 2011 - 5 EVENINGS TO EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN FAITHStarts this week on Wednesday 16th March then on Weds. 23rd & 30th March: and 6th & 13th April, 7.30pm at Sheffield Cathedral with Bishop Steven. There is Evensong at 5.45 pm and a simple meal at 6.30 pm (both optional) To book the meal, please email lent2011@sheffield-cathedral.org.uk (£5 each) giving numbers.  No charge for the main sessions.

THE TUESDAY LENT COURSE will be held on the following dates: March: Tues 15th, 22nd, 29th.  April: Tues 5th, 12th, and 19th, following 10.00 am H.C. here at St Paul’s.  Please note: The first date is this week

WEDNESDAY LENT COURSE We are also offering an evening Lent Course at Andy & Enid Treherne’s on 23rd & 30th March, and 6th & 13th April. Please let Enid or Barbara know if you are interested.

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING @ ST PAUL'S  Do we want to put on an event as in past years 10am - 12noon on Good Friday (22 April) morning for everyone but especially children and families?  Lots of crafts and creative worship finishing with hot cross buns, coffee and chat for the grown ups and parachute games for the children.  If you can be involved in anyway let Ann know.

THE BEAUCHIEF ABBEY LENT LECTURES - Five Wednesday evenings at St Andrew’s Psalter Lane Church beginning on 16th March. (Lecture – 7.00 pm, Questions & Discussion – 7.45 pm, Refreshments – 8.30 pm) The Revd Professor John Rogerson will lecture on The Challenges of Translating the Bible and their Importance for the King James Version. IAN PRICE TO BE ORDAINED Some of you will remember Ian from his involvement here years ago. He is now coming to the end of his training and will be ordained Deacon on 3rd July in Derby Cathedral. He will then serve as a non-stipendiary curate in Eckington and Ridgeway.

M.U. Please note: There will be no meeting of M.U. on Wednesday 20th April. Instead, there will be a Meditation for Holy Week in church.

ST PAUL’S  PEA AND PIE SUPPER  will  be held on the 25th March at 7.30pm for supper followed by Mark Veevers and his Hurdy Gurdy - if you've never heard a hurdy gurdy don't miss this opportunity, it will be fascinating!! Mark lives locally and has offered to do this for us so please support him. Tickets are £5  and will be available this weekend from Jacqui, Enid or Barbara Hanson or from the Office 

TEA AND LOVE FOR CARERS - A new church led group called TLC is starting on 3rd May, and then every Tuesday, from 2.30 to 3.30 pm in the MP. Some of us have cared for loved ones and know how demanding it is, and we feel called to support carers in our city. We are looking for others to back us in this - by prayer, by offering to come to chat or make tea from time to time, or by giving us cakes/ scones/ treats occasionally. If you would be happy to help, please see Enid or Liz.

“COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS” M.U. is also taking part in “Count Your Blessings” for the whole of Lent. Why not join them? As well as giving up your favourite treats, your prayers and cash gifts will be appreciated too please, and each Sunday you can review what you have done.
