A warm welcome to the family and friends of Phoebe and Isadora Hickson for their Baptism today

THE NEXT CHURCH FAMILY SUNDAY LUNCH will be on Sunday, May 22nd at 12 mid-day at the Bishops' Coffee House and Bistro on
Lees Hall Avenue
.  The cost is £6.95 for a choice of chicken or beef with Yorkshire pudding and a selection of veg.  Puddings are also available.  It's a small venue so we've booked the whole place - that’s just 30 people so please book your space ASAP as it'll be 1st come, 1st served.  Please see Liz, Enid, Jacqui or Barbara Hanson.

QUESTIONS! QUESTION!  Will begin on Thurs 26th May and will take place each week for most of June & July (we’ll arrange the precise dates when we start on 26th).

Questions! Questions! is a series of sessions, led by Murray, which will help you explore and consider the heart of the Christian faith. It is suitable for people who would like to be Confirmed and anyone who’d like to think a bit more about their faith. It would be great to have a good number of people coming to this Q Q series, especially those who have more recently joined St Paul’s.

AN EVENING WITH THE ARCHBICHOP OF YORK 7.30PM ON MAY 18TH IN THE ELSECAR HERITAGE CENTRE.  Everyone in the diocese is warmly invited to an evening meeting with the Archbishop.  It will be hosted by the Tankersley Deanery and will include informal worship, interviews with the Archbishop, a short address on the Archbishop’s vision for the Church of England and an opportunity to ask questions.

Gill Parsons is a fan of John Sentamu is very keen to go! She and Andy are happy to you a lift if you would like to go with them.

M. U. IN MAY Because it clashes with the Prayer Day at Warmsworth, M.U. will not be meeting on May 11th. Instead, they will be meeting this week on May 4th, when Mary Sheldon will talk about Mother Theresa.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 15th – 21st MAY 2011 Thank you to all last year’s helpers; St Paul’s collected £1,303.43. Please keep this week free and get involved. If you can deliver envelopes the week before, or call door to door to collect full envelopes during the week, please let Helen Franklin know. Tel. 0114 2554441. New volunteers are always welcome. Helen will contact last year’s helpers to confirm availability for this year.

SPRING CLEANING We will be organising a Spring Cleaning Saturday (morning) after Easter to cover those items that Jane and Jo don’t have time to do. (Date to be arranged.) If you would like to help, please let Ken know or leave a message for him at the office. Thank you

BEGINS SOON!  TEA & LOVE FOR CARERS
A new church led group called TLC is starting this week on 3rd May, and then every Tuesday, from 2.30 to 3.30 pm in the MP. Some of us have cared for loved ones and know how demanding it is, and we feel called to support carers in our city. We are looking for others to back us in this - by prayer, by offering to come to chat, or make tea from time to time, or by giving us cakes/ scones/ treats occasionally. If you would be happy to help, please see Enid or Liz.

FRIENDS OF BISHOPS’ HOUSE AGM will be held in The Upper Hall on Monday May16th from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm. Non-members are welcome; they may come as observers, or if they become members before the meeting is declared open, they will be eligible to vote.  For further information about this historical gem, please see John Brown, Chairman - Friends of Bishops House.
