FRAN  For those people who haven’t yet heard, Fran sadly passed away. The funeral service with a funeral tea to follow, will be held at St Paul’s.

THANK YOU to all the people who sponsored Deandra for the 5 mile Christian aid walk. She completed it in a time of 2 hours.

QUESTIONS! QUESTION!  Will begin on Thurs 26th May and will take place each week for most of June & July (we’ll arrange the precise dates when we start on 26th).

Questions! Questions! is a series of sessions, led by Murray, which will help you explore and consider the heart of the Christian faith. It is suitable for people who would like to be Confirmed and anyone who’d like to think a bit more about their faith. It would be great to have a good number of people coming to this Q Q series, especially those who have more recently joined St Paul’s.

NEXT WEEK IS CHRISTIAN AID WEEK (15th – 21st MAY 2011) Thank you to all last year’s helpers; St Paul’s collected £1,303.43. Please keep this week free and get involved. If you can deliver envelopes the week before, or call door to door to collect full envelopes during the week, please let Helen Franklin know. Tel. 0114 2554441. New volunteers are always welcome. Helen will contact last year’s helpers to confirm availability for this year.

SPRING CLEANING We will be organising a Spring Cleaning Saturday (morning) after Easter to cover those items that Jane and Jo don’t have time to do. (Date to be arranged.) If you would like to help, please let Ken know or leave a message for him at the office. Thank you

FRIENDS OF BISHOPS’ HOUSE AGM will be held in The Upper Hall on Monday May16th from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm. Non-members are welcome; they may come as observers, or if they become members before the meeting is declared open, they will be eligible to vote.  For further information about this historical gem, please see John Brown, Chairman - Friends of Bishops House.

From Murray

As some of you will have heard last Sunday, we had some time off after Easter and went down to Kent for a couple of days enjoying the warm weather!

I really feel I have needed the time off too!  It is great to be better than I was and to have people tell me that I am looking better than I used to.  The trouble has been that I have not been as well as I have looked in the last few months.  Partly this is due to not having a holiday since October so I will have to be more organised in future years!

Please pray for the Questions! Questions! series which starts later this month.  I have not been well enough to lead it for the last couple of years and face this series with a mixture of fear and excitement.  I am delighted that we have people who are wanting to do the course, and especially those who are wanting to be confirmed later this year.  I am also excited because I have found it such a joy and privilege to lead these sort of series in the past.  My fear, of course, is that I won’t manage it this time!

So I would really appreciate your prayer for me leading, for the people who are currently thinking of attending and for those people who are still being invited to attend.
