ENID was home last weekend then started chemotherapy on Tuesday as a day patient.

ZIMBABWE DVD of SCS will be shown at our   10.00 am service on Sunday 18th December.

Tues 13th Dec Meersbrook Bank School Carol Service at 7.00 pm in church (No Brownies or Guides, & DLG now in The Old Vestry.)
Sun 18th Dec - Carols by Candlelight at 6.00 pm
For adults & older children - with Carfield Community Choir.  Followed by mulled wine and refreshments.
Sat 24th Dec - Christmas Eve Family Carol Service 6.00 pm. Our ever popular short carol service for younger children, families and everyone else who can find a seat!
Sat 24th - Christmas Eve Midnight Communion 11.30 pm  A quiet service as Christmas Day begins.
Sun 25th - Christmas Day - Family Communion 10 am

DIOCESAN EVENTS The next Bishop of Doncaster is being Consecrated (made a Bishop) in York Minister at 11 am on Thursday 2nd February.  These are wonderful occasions and anyone can attend, but you will need to ask Murray for a ticket in the next few days.

An eight week course on Tuesday evenings, called Foundations of Faith, is starting on 17th January at St Mary’s Bramall Lane.  It will look at ‘Using the Bible’, The History of the Church’, ‘Worship’ and ‘Ethics’.  Please see Murray for more information.

2012 DIARY & CHURCH ROTA  For heating purposes, billing etc., could all groups who hold their meetings at St Paul’s please give their 2012 meeting dates in writing (or by email) to Joan or John, or hand a note in at the office. It will also be helpful if you could let us know which dates you will not be meeting during the festive season. Please also make sure any Jan-Mar 2012 holidays or absences for the next quarter’s rota are put in writing. Thank you

TLC - TEA & LOVE FOR OUR COMMUNITY We are here on Tuesdays in the MP from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. We can offer a lift if needed - contact Liz on 2557965 Please tell others about us even if you don’t need us!

M.U.  The M.U. Advent Service will be held at St Oswald’s on Tuesday 13th December. N.B. There will be No M.U. meeting on Wed 14th Dec at St Paul’s.

PEEKABOO’S CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on Wed 14th Dec. This is the last session before Christmas.

CHAIRS FOR CHRISTMAS SERVICES Volunteers are still needed after HC on Tues 6th Dec at 11.15 am to bring chairs up from the basement. Please see Ken or Murray if you can help. Thank you

POPPY APPEAL This year we raised £26.43 for the British Legion.

FRUIT, JAM & CHUTNEY SALES now total £153.94 for the Fabric Fund.  Thank you everyone!

CHURCH GARDEN There are 2 remaining plots at the front of church which have already been cleared (small ones!) Please see Ken or John Brown if you are interested in adopting one of them. Thank you

ENID’S HOME GROUP will meet on 14th December for their Christmas Party. The meeting on 28th December is cancelled. Meetings restart on 11th January; as before they will be every 2nd & 4th Wednesday.

CATHEDRAL ARCHER PROJECT Join us on Friday 16th Dec. at 12.30 pm at Sheffield Cathedral for our annual Carol Service. As usual, there will be an opportunity to bring donations and gifts for the clients and there will be a space at the front of the Cathedral for you to leave them.

SHEFFIELD BACH SOCIETY is delighted to announce special events for Christmas; Handel’s Messiah this week on Mon 5th Dec at 7.00 pm, and ‘Come Sing Messiah!’ in Dore Parish Church on Mon 19th Dec with seasonal refreshments.  Please see poster in MP.
