CHRISTMAS SERVICES & EVENTS 2011
Sun 4th Dec –Talbot School Service 2.00 pm If you can volunteer to help with refreshments, please see Jacqui Wed 7th Dec – District Scouts Carol Service at 7.00 pm in church (N.B. Yoga, Tai Chi & W.I. all cancelled. The W.I.’s Christmas Party is now rearranged for 14th Dec.)
Sat 10th Dec - at 12 noon Senior Members’ Lunch
Sun 11th Dec - Christingle Family Worship 10 am.  A fun service where we make our own Christingles!
Mon 12th Dec - Rehearsal in church at 1.30 pm for Meersbrook Bank School’s Carol Service tomorrow
Tues 13th Dec Meersbrook Bank School Carol Service at 7.00 pm in church (No Brownies or Guides.)
Sun 18th Dec - Carols by Candlelight  at 6.00 pm
For adults & older children - with Carfield Community Choir.  Followed by mulled wine and refreshments.
Sat 24th Dec - Christmas Eve Family Carol Service 6.00 pm. Our ever popular short carol service for younger children, families and everyone else who can find a seat!
Sat 24th - Christmas Eve Midnight Communion 11.30 pm.  A quiet service as Christmas Day begins.
Sun 25th - Christmas Day - Family Communion 10 am

TLC - TEA & LOVE FOR OUR COMMUNITY We are here on Tuesdays in the MP from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. We can offer a lift if needed - contact Liz on 2557965 Please tell others about us even if you don’t need us!

M.U.  The M.U. Advent Service will be held at St Oswald’s on Tuesday 13th December. N.B. There will be No M.U. meeting on Wed 14th Dec at St Paul’s.

REMINDER – FURNITURE FOR FUNCTIONS ETC. If you are planning events or meetings in church that need different chair/table arrangements to those we normally set out, could you please let me (and Cathy) know so that I can put the information on Robert’s rota. Also, if we get it wrong, can you let me know so that we can try and get it right next time! Many thanks. John H.
LIFT May we also take this opportunity to remind you not to overload the lift (which can make it judder alarmingly whilst you’re travelling!) and not to place tables and chairs against the walls of the lift. Thank you.
CHAIRS FOR CHRISTMAS SERVICES Volunteers are needed after HC on Tues 6th Dec at 11.15 am to bring chairs up from the basement. Please see Ken or Murray if you can help. Thank you

PEEKABOO’S CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on Wed 14th Dec. This is the last session before Christmas.

FRUIT SALES now total £147.84 for the Fabric Fund.

CHURCH GARDEN There are 2 remaining plots at the front of church which have already been cleared (small ones!) Please see Ken or John Brown if you are interested in adopting one of them. Thank you

ENID’S HOME GROUP will meet on 14th December for their Christmas Party. The meeting on 28th December is cancelled. Meetings restart on 11th January; as before they will be every 2nd & 4th Wednesday.

CATHEDRAL ARCHER PROJECT Join us on Friday 16th Dec. at 12.30 pm at Sheffield Cathedral for our annual Carol Service. As usual, there will be an opportunity to bring donations and gifts for the clients and there will be a space at the front of the Cathedral for you to leave them.

SHEFFIELD BACH SOCIETY is delighted to announce special events for Christmas; Handel’s Messiah on Mon 5th Dec at 7.00 pm, and ‘Come Sing Messiah!’ in Dore Parish Church on Mon 19th Dec with seasonal refreshments.  Please see poster in The Meeting Place.

Events at Bishops HouseSeasonal Music from The Beekeeepers on Sat 17th Dec. Carol Singing on Sun 18th Dec from 2 - 4.00 pm. Come and join us as Bishops House is filled with singing for the festive season. FREE. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
