From Murray – your Choice for Lent!
You have three choices (at least) for something to do in Lent!  The problem is that they are all on Wednesday evenings!
First there is Questions! Questions! which I will be leading in the Meeting Place.  It is a series based around questions which I pose and answer – (that’s the easy bit!) but the idea is that this will give you the opportunity to ask other questions which are more important to you.
Barbara will be speaking at our Ash Wednesday Holy Communion service on 22nd February at 7.30 pm and Questions! Questions! will begin the next week on 29th.
Secondly, Bishop Steven is leading five sessions on prayer based on the Lord’s Prayer, down at the Cathedral also starting at 7.30 pm on 29th February.  Bishop Steven’s course last year was very much appreciated and it gives you the opportunity to meet up with people from other churches.  Prayer is so vital to our relationship with God and the course is suitable to people who are new to the Christian faith, as well as those who have been believers for many years.  He is very down to earth and approachable – I would go if I wasn’t busy!
Thirdly, if you want something a bit more academic Prof. John Rogerson is presenting a series of five lectures entitled Law and Justice in the Old Testament.  These will take place at St Andrew’s Psalter Lane starting at 7.00 pm on 29th February.  Some of you will remember John from when he assisted my predecessor Malcolm with ministry here at St Paul’s.  The course will be about “the prophetic impulse that sought to shape a society that reflected the divine image”(!)
