TEARFUND For those members of the congregation who donate each month to what used to be Sponsored Children, you may remember that for the past few years a proportion of the money has been sent to the Shelter of Hope in Zimbabwe. However, now that St Paul’s is no longer supporting the Shelter, all the funds you donate will now be sent to Tearfund for their Children at Risk programme. The monthly donation will now be £30. BEAUCHIEF ABBEY LENT LECTURES 2012
The 5 weekly lectures begin at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 29th February at St Andrew’s Psalter Lane Church. The lecture on “Law and Justice in The Old Testament” will be given by the renowned Old Testament scholar, Revd Professor John Rogerson. LENT 2012 – THE LORD’S PRAYER Five evenings exploring how to pray – Wednesdays 29th Feb, then 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th March at 7.30 pm at Sheffield Cathedral with Bishop. All very welcome. See Murray for details.
CONFIRMATION 2012 We have the go ahead for a Confirmation Service with The Bishop of Sheffield on Wed 19th Sept at 7.30 pm. We will be joined by candidates from other local churches but anyone who would like to be confirmed should have a word with Murray (it will be a few years before we have another Confirmation service here at St Paul’s.)
M.U. John Brown will be presenting a Local History talk at the next M.U. meeting on Wednesday 8th February. For anyone who misses this one, John will repeat it at the History Group on Tuesday 14th February. Admission £2.50. Don’t miss it!

THE STANAGE STUMBLE - date for your diary
The Stanage Stumble on Sunday 6th May covers varied terrain with minimal road walking and is open to both runners and walkers. Refreshments will be provided at all check points, but entrants must carry enough provisions for the day. Starts and finishes at the HSBC sports ground at Limb Lane, entry fee £10 to include certificate, badge & hot meal following completion of the walk. All profits will be donated to the UK’s leading family support charity Home Start Sheffield.
