Questions! Questions!  Murray is delighted that people are wanting to do the Questions! Questions! course so he is trying to sort out times.  The first will be on Thursday evenings starting on April 11th and running through most of May.  Following that he will be leading a course in June and July on a Wednesday evenings.  In the autumn he is also hoping to run a morning course.  Do let him know if you would be interested in joining any of these.  The course is ideal for people who would like to be baptised, confirmed or have an opportunity to think more about their faith.  The course gives you the space to ask the questions you might have always wanted to ask but never quite had the opportunity!




ELECTORAL ROLL  This year we have to completely redo our roll so please fill in a form and return it to Murray or leave it for him in the church office.

EASTER EGGS FOR ROUNDABOUT  It is time to start collecting eggs for the homeless young people.  Please buy medium sized eggs so that they all get the same!  And leave them in the small vestry.

LENT 2013
LENT COURSE  ‘JESUS REDISCOVERED’ As 19th March is a PCC night, the 5th session for the Derbyshire Lane Group at Margaret’s house has been moved to 26th March.
‘JESUS REDISCOVERED’ ON WEDNESDAYS!  The Lent group in church in the MP will meet this week on Wednesday 20th March for the 5th and final session. Please see Jacqui
HOME GROUP AT LIZ & MIKE’S The date of the 5th Lent session at Liz & Mike’s house  is 20th March.

GOOD FRIDAY Messy Church for families is also next week on Friday 29th March at 10 am to 12 noon.  All welcome!
Messy Church will be followed by our usual Meditation for Easter “AN HOUR  AT THE CROSS” at 2.00 pm  in the Chancel.
EASTER DAY Holy Communion at 8.00 am. and Family Communion at 10.00 am on Sunday 31st March.

SPRING 2013 – MORE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
SPRING MEMORIAL SERVICE will be on Sunday 14th April at 6.00 pm. Invitations and more information to follow shortly
PIE AND PEA SUPPER and “A taste of Dubai” from Murray will be on Friday 19th April at 7.00 pm in the Nave. There will be steak, chicken & leek, or vegetarian pies available. Tickets are £5.00 each and will be available soon from Jacqui Herbert, Liz Warren or Barbara Hanson. Please let them know your food preference.
THE ANNUAL CHURCH PAROCHIAL MEETING will be held on Sunday 28th April at our 10 am service.
1st WEDNESDAY GROUP  will watch Part 3 of the DVD “Christianity in Roman Times” at their next meeting on 3rd April. More information from Jacqui
The next M.U. CATHEDRAL COFFEE MORNING will be held in Gallery 1554 at Sheffield Cathedral on Friday 5th April.

“JERUSALEM JOY” an Easter musical by Roger Jones will be presented by the Coal Aston United Churches Choir on Monday 25th March at 7.30 pm at Mount View Methodist Church, Derbyshire Lane.  Donation of £3.00 please.

CHURCH GARDEN Please take the opportunity to have walk round the church garden and see how our Spring bulbs are coming along! There are still vacant plots to be tended occasionally if anyone would like to add their name (see John’s drawing on the flip chart stand.) If you’d like to volunteer for something smaller or join forces with another church member, please see John B. or Murray.

A NIGHT IN VIENNA The Sheaf Singers present “A Night in Vienna” on Sat 20th April at 7.15 pm at the URC. Guest artists will be Meersbrook Light Orchestra, Gwen Knight – Soprano & Matthew Pitts – Accompanist. Tickets are £6.00 from all members and Olive Walker Tel 0114 2692144, or see Ken in church. The event is in aid of this year’s chosen charity, Help for Heroes.  We hope to see you there!

FOOD BANK Please could people start saving strong carrier bags - please leave them with the donations of food by the bookcase.   We also need collectors this Saturday at Tesco from 12.00 noon to 2.00 pm – see Robert for details.

BISHOPS HOUSE EVENTS Today! (Sunday March 17th) from 2.30 pm to 3.45 pm come and be entertained by the Black Velvet Clarinet Ensemble performing a selection of original music from the 16th Century to the present day. These events are FREE!  Tel. 2557701 for more info.
Knights Hospitaller Association Come and meet the Knights of St John on 30th & 31st March. Walk round Bishops House and discover what it was like in Medieval England.
