maybe at St Paul’s! Watch this space!
SAINSBURY’S VOUCHERS There’s a box at the back of church if you would like to donate to
Active Kids 2013 again this year please. In previous years the appeal has
provided some fantastic equipment for St Paul’s Beavers. More details to
follow.
ROBERT’S NEWS OF THE FOOD BANK Following a very
successful collection on 23rd & 24th March in Tesco,
Robert reports that the value of food collected was £1,400 and the weight of
food was 1 ton!!! There were also cash donations of £120 to buy extra food.
Tesco will add 30% of the total collected. Considering the bad weather, this is
an excellent result. On this occasion,
Andy and Robert from St Paul’s helped out. The next collection will hopefully
be in June. Robert will provide more information at a later date, but once
again, volunteers are needed, and we are still very grateful for your weekly
donations at St Paul’s.
Please continue to save strong carrier bags
and leave them with the donations of food by the bookcase.
SCOUTS AGM
Andrew Biglands would like to welcome supporters past & present to the AGM
at the Scout Headquarters, Welby Place on Saturday 20th April at 4
pm.
KNITTING WOOL REQUEST If anyone has spare balls of pure wool (not synthetics thanks) the W.I.
would be most appreciative. It can be left in the Old Vestry for Sylvia to
collect on Wednesday. The W.I. is supporting a project that Irene Seggar came
up with, through her involvement with St Paul’s TLC. Amateur knitters are being
asked to take up their needles to knit legwarmers for use in trampolining to
raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust’s funds. For more information visit www.supertramp.co.uk
Prayer Focus: We continue to

From
Murray
We had a good few days last week down in
Sevenoaks seeing my Aunt and catching up with some school friends of mine. We had a bit of sun though as often is the
case when we are away you had more sun up here and it was rather gloomy for
most of the time down there.
Anyway we enjoyed a very brief walk on the
beach on the way to meet my friends – really only to say that we had done it,
as the wind was bitter! But when the sun
was out I really enjoyed the views across fields, which were ploughed and ready
for planting. On the downs (chalk hills
in south east) the ploughed fields have amazing shades of colour from dark
brown where the soil is deep, to almost white where it is shallow and the chalk
has come to the surface. There was a
great sense of spring just around the corner.
The trees were bare, but somehow shaded with colour where the leaf buds
were just waiting for a little bit of warm to bring them on, and burst into
leaf.
