CORRECTION - THIS YEAR’S ADVENT COURSE will be on Tuesday mornings following Holy Communion on 26th Nov and 3rd and 10th Dec. All welcome!   (Apologies for giving the wrong months on last week’s notice sheet.) 

 

SONGS FOR CHRISTMAS by The Sheaf Singers presented by Olive Walker with accompanist Matthew Pitts at St Paul’s Church on November 30th at 7.15 pm. Tickets priced £5.00 available from Ken; please  Tel.  2507914, or Margaret  - Tel. 2557538 or pay on the door. Proceeds in aid of Help for Heroes and St Paul’s charities in Zimbabwe.

 

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL If people would like to start sorting through books at home, we will be having a bookstall at the Christmas Tree Festival to be held in church on Saturday 23rd November. There is a  box in which to leave them, in the clergy vestry.  Can members also start saving suitable NEW items for a £1.00 Tombola stall please? Please see Liz if you can help on the day from 10.30 am (or a little earlier) to 2.30 pm. There will be cakes, books, preserves, tombola and refreshments.

 

A MEDIEVAL MISCELLANY  It will also be the Bishops’ House Fayre on Sat 23rd and Sun 24th Nov  from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm at the Bishops’ House in Meersbrook Park. There will be craft stalls, music and entertainment - all with a medieval theme. Free entry to both events so please  encourage your family and friends to pay us both a visit!

HARVEST SUPPER  A huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in organizing the Harvest Supper last Saturday evening!  Special thanks to the ladies ( and possibly gents?) who provided and served the the lovely food.

 

THANKS also from Irene Bell who appreciated the get well card, the juicy oranges and Barbara’s visit.

 

SALES OF FRUIT Sales of apples, plums and damsons have raised about £52.00 to date for the fabric fund.  For anyone who isn’t already aware, we now have work completed the first of our 8 windows needing urgent repairs.  It’s such an improvement – do take a look!

UKELELE CLUB WITH PETER BURT The 3 session club will be suitable for complete beginners and also anyone who has been before. Please see the notice boards in church for information on how to request a place.

 

REQUEST FOR FOODBANK VOLUNTEERS On the 14th Oct we started a food bank which will operate across the S2 postcode. We would love to hear from people who already volunteer in another food bank in the city & would be able to offer some support to our new volunteers.  If you can help please e-mail ruth.tobler2012@gmail.com or call 07804406267 with your name & contact number.
