PETE SANDFORD’S LICENSING AS READER  I am delighted to say that Pete has now passed the required assignment for him to be licensed as            St Paul’s second (current) Reader.  The service will be at Sheffield Cathedral at 11.00 am on Saturday 20^th September.  The service will be a moving celebration of lay ministry across the Diocese and I hope that many of us will attend as we did Gail’s licensing last year.  More details from Pete.  Murray

PRAYER DAY AT LONGSHAW  The next Prayer day will be on Saturday 13^th September starting at 10 am and going on to 4 pm.  As before the cost is £5 which includes tea and coffee but you need to bring your own lunch or go down to the café if you prefer. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church.

BASIC CAKE DECORATING SESSIONS  If you have an interest in cake decorating/design then why not come along to the sessions I intend to hold at St Paul’s Church on Saturday 16^th, 23^rd and 30^th Aug from 1 pm – 4 pm.  I will show you various techniques in producing beautiful cakes/cupcakes. The total cost for the sessions is £24, which is due prior to the 16^th August. To secure your place or to find our more details, please contact Christine on 07851136394.   Please note: If too many people are away during the bank holiday weekend, the middle session will move to Saturday 6^th September.

PEEKABOO Peekaboo has finished for the Summer.  Please contact Helen, Gemma or Claire (Details in “What’s on at St Paul’s”) if you can help with toy washing for a couple of hours next week on Wed 20^th Aug at about 10.00 am. Thank you

We still have a few copies left!  Bruce’s book is an interesting mixture of thoughtful and humorous lessons from life and ministry. Proceeds to go to Sheffield Church of the Nazarene Building Fund for the redevelopment of the church. Please take a look at the sample book in church: price £8.00. FOODBANK UPDATE :

NEXT WEEKEND! - Preloved Uniform are holding an Open Day “Kit out your kids” on Sun 17^th Aug at the Michael Church, Lowedges Rd from 2 – 3.30 pm. There will be good quality second hand clothing for primary and junior schools, and Meadowhead School  which are free to those on benefits. (Please bring proof.) Voluntary donations are requested from parents in employment.
