PENTECOST @ ST PAUL’S Thanks to all involved with the Good Friday event. We’re planning a similar morning on Pentecost Sat 11th June and need people to help.  Pete has e-mailed some who were involved before, so please respond to this or have a word with him.

TEN DAYS OF PRAYER 2011 Bishop Steven has called for another ten days of prayer this year between Ascension Day and Pentecost.  So that we can join with the rest of the Diocese in prayer at this time the church will be open next Saturday morning.  Jana is providing prayer stations and there will be materials to help us pray in different ways.  The prayer stations will be left up through the week so please call in when ever you can.

JESSIE    has moved into Holmwood Care Centre, on Warminster Road.   Some days are better than others for her, and mornings seem to be better than later in the day.

CHURCH ROTA (Jul to Sept.) Please let Ann know if you’re unavailable for duties, or leave a message for Cathy.

M.U. DEANERY FESTIVAL will be held in church on Tues 31st May. N.B. TLC will be in The OV. There’s no MU meeting in OV on 8th June - MU going out for a meal.

REMINDER – CHURCH SPRING CLEANING SATURDAY MORNING is on 18th June from 10.00 am to 12 noon.  If you can help, please see Ken. Thanks

CHURCH SUMMER BUFFETChange of Date! Because of Holidays this event will now be held in the Autumn

BISHOP STEVEN’S GARDEN PARTY will be held at Bishopscroft, Snaithing Lane on Sunday June 19th from 2 – 5.00 pm. Bishop Steven and Ann are once again opening their garden and hope you’ll be able to join them.  There will be various attractions including stalls from Mothers’ Union, Archer Project and others as well as a Bishopscroft garden plant sale. All this together with games for children (and adults!) Entertainment will be provided by the Dinnington Colliery Brass Band and refreshments by St John’s Ranmoor. Proceeds will go to the Cathedral Archer Project and M.U. Entrance:  Adults £2; Children free.

Ecclesall Deanery MU, of which St. Paul's is a branch, is taking new toiletries for their stall. St Paul’s M.U. would be grateful for any contributions.  The Diocese would also welcome cakes for our cake stall which usually makes lots of money for our charities - many thanks Margaret Blakey.

FREE FAMILY FUN DAY at St Mary’s Conference Centre, Bramall Lane on Wed. 1st June from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm to celebrate National Family Week – 30th May to 5th June. Sports, arts & crafts, family themed entertainment inc. break dancing, drumming, circus skills and much more!

From Murray
We had a fantastic week in the South of France staying with our friends near Nice.  Peter and Helen have recently retired from their ministry in Cannes and have a house up in the mountains which has a flat for visitors!

The weather was warm and sunny and we were able to visit a number of amazing medieval villages, enjoy walks, see spring flowers and other interesting wildlife.  Back at the house we could soak in the wonderful views and ever present scent of orange blossom!  I had been a bit anxious about the travelling but the flight worked out well and I felt better than I have for quite some time!
