notices

ENID thanks everyone for their beautiful cards and prayers. The hospital is having difficulty finding out what’s wrong – they are still doing tests, but they have proved inconclusive so far. Enid says she’s receiving the very best of care but asks us all for our continuing prayers. She finished her call by saying God is good!

CHURCH FLOWERS The flowers in church today were paid for by Fran's family to remember her 93rd birthday on 3rd June.

PENTECOST @ ST PAUL’S We're now just days away from our event - Pentecost Eve @ St Paul’s 2011 on Saturday 11th June from 10 – 11.30 am. It's starting to shape up. On Good Friday, we had 45 parents and children doing crafts on five tables. It was great to have so many helpers as everyone was enabled to feel involved. It would be great to hear from any others who could volunteer to help with welcoming, crafts and food.

Our time together will be focused on the wind of the Holy Spirit and Pentecost as the birthday of the Church. Activities are likely to involve the following: windmills, streamers, Dove 'magic painting', card making, fairy-cake decoration, play-dough, and '10 Days of Prayer' prayer stations in the chancel. With enough help, we could also include the following activities for any older children who come - paper planes and origami doves? and kite making.

We'll be meeting together after the service on Sunday 5th  June to pray and plan who does what.

Please could you let Pete, Jana or Ann know if you'd like to volunteer for any of the above jobs. It's great when we can all be involved together. Looking forward to a great morning!

TEN DAYS OF PRAYER 2011  So that we can join with the rest of the Diocese prayer stations which will be left up through the week, and there will be materials to help us pray in different ways. Please call in when you can.

SAMARITANS PURSE There’s a new copy of Shoebox News on the notice board. Please take time to have a look; it really portrays the joy experienced by the recipient children. In 2010 the U.K. raised £1.12 million !

From Murray

It was a great privilege to take part in the MU Deanery Festival at St Paul’s this week.  There were a good number of MU members from around the Deanery and members of St Paul’s branch did really well as they took part in the service.  It made me feel proud of what God is doing in people’s lives here and proud to be part of an organisation which does such amazing things to help people around the world.
