NEXT WEEK  Bishop Steven warmly invites you to The Ecclesall Deanery Evening on ‘Growing the Body of Christ’ – the Diocesan Strategy for Growth, to be held at All Saints Church, Ecclesall on Wed 23rd Nov at 7.30 pm. Invitations in church. PCC members, Deanery Synod members & licensed lay ministers particularly welcome.



SMALL GROUPS YOU MIGHT LIKE TO BE PART OF? If you are looking to join a small group to help you get closer to our church family, discuss our faith and pray together, please take a look at Murray’s leaflet to see which suits you best (copies in church.) It’s a wonderful way to meet and make friendships, and some of our groups enjoy social evenings too. Five groups are held in members’ homes, and Contemplative Prayer, Gail’s Prayer Group and ‘Questions! Questions!’ are all held in church. Telephone contact numbers are in the leaflet.



CHRISTMAS SERVICES 2011

Sat 26th Nov - Advent Messy Church 10 am to 12 noon. Creative worship for all the family in preparation for Christmas. If you can help please see Ann or Pete.

Sun 4th Dec –Talbot School Service 2.00 pm If you can volunteer to help with refreshments, please see Jacqui Wed 7th Dec – District Scouts Carol Service at 7.00 pm in church (N.B. Yoga, Tai Chi & W.I. all cancelled. The W.I.’s Christmas Party is rearranged for 14th Dec.)

Sun 11th Dec - Christingle Family Worship 10 am.  A fun service where we make our own Christingles!

Mon 12th Dec - Rehearsal in church at 1.30 pm for Meersbrook Bank School’s Carol Service tomorrow

Tues 13th December Meersbrook Bank School Carol Service at 7.00 pm in church (No Brownies or Guides.)

Sun 18th Dec - Carols by Candlelight 6.00 pm

For adults & older children - with Carfield Community Choir.  Followed by mulled wine and refreshments.

Sat 24th Dec - Christmas Eve Family Carol Service 6.00 pm. Our ever popular short carol service for younger children, families and everyone else who can find a seat!

Sat 24th - Christmas Eve Midnight Communion 11.30 pm.  A quiet service as Christmas Day begins.

Sun 25th - Christmas Day - Family Communion 10 am

SENIOR MEMBERS’ CHRISTMAS LUNCH will be on Saturday 10th December at 12 noon.



PEEKABOO’S CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on Wed 14th Dec. This is the last session before Christmas.



CHRISTMAS IS COMING! Charity Cards now in church. There are also catalogues in church for 3 charities if you would like to support them – Leprosy Mission, Mothers’ Union and Tear Fund.  Jacqui will send an order at the end of Nov - all profits to church projects. Thanks

DERBYSHIRE LANE GROUP meets this week on 15th  Nov and again on 22nd. The Advent Course begins on 29th Nov (meeting in church,) 6th & 13th Dec – venue t.b.a.

POLICING - Safer Neighbourhoods Newsletter for November – from Inspector Ian Stubbs. A proactive operation has been running in the Norton & Norton Lees areas this month and 6 significant criminals charged and remanded in custody. You can have a say in how our community is policed at the next Safer Neighbourhoods meeting at Morrison’s, Meadowhead on Thurs 24th Nov between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm
