From Murray This
Tuesday I am having a bit of time off as I will be working on (Good)
Friday. I have just come in from gardening
and it is a glorious day, the sun is shining and I have been hot in just a
t-shirt! It is amazing to see everything
coming back to life again. The grass is
growing, trees are coming into leaf and shrubs are spouting. All this reminds us of the power of God which
brought Jesus back to life again. He
died a painful death and was buried in a stranger’s tomb, but this was not the
end of the story. The Holy Spirit of God
burst the tomb and raised Jesus from the death – much to the shock and surprise
of his followers. And Jesus was not just
brought back to live his old life again; this was a new and different sort of
existence. Jesus was able to appear and
disappear at will and he could even enter a locked room without a key! In doing so he gives us a sense of what life
will be like for us beyond our death. Jesus
resurrection is a foretaste of what our life with be like when we more fully
live with and for God after we die. A
very happy Easter to you all!
