We Welcome the Family And Friends for the Baptism of  R
From Murray  After the success of the retreat this autumn I am thinking of organising another for May or June next year.  Those who came this year said that that would like to have it a little longer.  The only way we can do that is by being there from a Tuesday lunchtime to a Friday morning.  Alternatively it could be from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.  Could you please let me know what you would prefer – with a priority to those who have not been before.

CONGRATULATIONS!  Beth and Matthew  have a new baby daughter born Friday 13th November (three weeks early!) and weighing 6lb 6oz. They are calling her Emily, and both Mum and baby are doing well. With many congratulations and very best wishes to Beth,  Matthew, Rose and baby Emily, from all your church family & friends at St Paul’s.

From Murray
It was great to see so many people at the Christmas Tree festival last week, well done to all those who organised the day and worked towards its success.

As I write today I have been to see my Spiritual Director and we reflected (amongst other things) on the coming of Christmas.  In the next few weeks most of us will have a busy time with preparations, and while it of good to be prepared we have to remember that we do not have to make Christmas happen.  For people of faith the initiative comes from God.  It is his gift of Jesus born into our world which we are celebrating.  So somewhere in the midst of our preparations we need to make the space for us to respond to God’s amazing initiative of sending Jesus Christ.
