From Murray
Last night was my first Carol Service of the season!  Meersbrook Bank’s Christingle is always great fun to be part of.  David plays the organ for some of the carols and I give a short talk and lead prayers for the Children’s Society.  Children read the Christmas bible readings, act plays and play music.  David and I felt that the standard of performance was particularly high this year and it was a joy to see the church full of people beaming with good will!  As ever, the teachers were a bit nervous of using our microphones but the children have no such inhibitions!  And you need some amplification when the church is so full!  A great evening!

BETH AND MATTHEW would like to thank everyone for all the cards, presents and prayers following Emily's birth. We have felt God's love surrounding us.

THANK YOUS! We are very pleased to have added significantly to the fund for replacing the damaged windows. Although we still have quite a way to go, thanks are due to everyone who worked so hard to make the following Christmas events such a success.
CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL & FAYRE:  A big thank you to everyone who gave their time, moved furniture, decorated trees, baked, donated goods & manned the stalls. £964 was raised towards our windows appeal.
THE SHEAF SINGERS CONCERT raised a further £420, so thanks to Ken for all his hard work in organising it, all the refreshment makers, and to everyone who came to support the event. Thanks also to those who supported ‘HOLLY DAYS, the floral demonstration evening, and particularly to Liz Edwards for giving her time once again.

FLORAL TRIBUTES If anyone has an occasion to celebrate (anniversaries etc.) and would like to have flowers put in church, please see Deidre, who will be happy to receive your donation for flowers & make your arrangement for you.

From Murray
A visit to Germany to see our old church organ!
For a while now I have been thinking about organising a trip to Germany to see our old church organ in its restored state – now in a Roman Catholic Church near Frankfurt.  I have finally got round to making enquiries about a coach trip staying at a German hotel  and find that it will cost around £400 per person for a five day trip depending a bit on how many go and when we go.

My idea is that we would spend a day going to the church to see the organ and have a look around but there are also plenty of interesting things to see in the area.  We will be close to the part of the Rhine where the huge river makes a dramatic cut through a range of hills with a number of amazing castles along its course.  It will be a bit more expensive to go in the height of summer but if we could go in the late spring or early autumn we should have good enough weather.

To find out if it would be worthwhile could you please let me know if you at all interested in going on the trip.
