Holy Communion – we welcome Keith Blinston of Focus (Sheffield) Church, who will be preaching at our service today.  Owing to the UH party on Saturday evening, Seekers will be held today in the Old Vestry.

A WARM WELCOME to the families and friends of children who are being baptised at St Paul’s today.

From Murray
We are beginning to work through the questionnaires people filled in at Family Worship and I have seen some very encouraging scores!  It is good to know that what we do at St Paul’s is appreciated.  But we can always improve so it will be interesting when Pam has collated the results to see the areas you think we could work on.  Strategy Group will do some work on results before we report to the next PCC meeting.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Ash Wednesday  18th February Holy Communion, 7.30 pm at St Peter’s Greenhill, led by Harry Steel with Geoffrey & Murray and with Duncan (curate at St Chad’s) preaching.
Faith to Share – St Paul’s Lent series 2015 will begin on Wednesday 25th February, 7.30 pm in the Meeting Place.  It will have a similar format to last year and will run for the following four weeks. Please make a point of being there!
Questions! Questions! will begin on Wednesday 29th  April, 7.30 pm in the Meeting Place.  If you have not yet done Questions! Questions!  why not come along this year!
Ascension Day Thursday 14th May, 7.30 pm will be at St James’ Norton and Murray is to preach.  We will also be able to admire the reordering of the rear of the church.

FURTHER REMINDER! - PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLOSE DOORS as you leave each room to ensure the heat stays in the room for the group that follows you. In the aftermath of an expensive repair bill for the boiler, it will also make our heating bills more manageable.  Ones to be aware of are the doors between the Clergy Vestry and the Old Vestry, and from the Nave into the OV corridor. Please pass on this message to members of groups that you are part of. Thanks

KATH KENWORTHY   There is message from Kath Kenworthy’s daughter on the Meeting Place notice board. For a long time Len and Kath were members of St. Paul’s.

WHAT IS “VINE TIME”?  Well, some of us wanted an evening service and decided that once a month would fill the gap. It is an unstructured time of worship with singing, sharing, praying & music, with times of quiet in between. We meet at 6.00 pm for an hour in the Old Vestry, on the 3rd Sunday in the month.  Anyone who feels that they need a quiet time with God is welcome to join us.  Please see Jacqui if you’d like to know more.

BRING ME SUNSHINE a light hearted look at the ups and downs of family life with Rob Parsons plus special guest John Archer. This hilarious evening of comedy and inspiration will be held at The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Chesterfield Road South on Tuesday 3rd March from
7.30 pm to 10.00 pm. Doors open at 6.45 pm. (For prices please see the flyers in church) or phone 02920810800 or contact www.careforthefamily.org.uk/sunshine
This looks well worth going to and it is unusual to have part of their national tour so close to where we live.  Murray

M.U. EVENT   Please note: There will be a meeting on the evening of 10th June from 7.00 to 9.00 pm which is open to everyone. Please save this date in your diaries – it will be an interesting evening with a talk given by the Street Pastors.
There will be no meeting that afternoon. Please see Jacqui if you’d like to know more.

CHURCH ACTION ON POVERTY have designated 15th February this year as Poverty Sunday. In Sheffield we are holding a service at Victoria Hall Methodist Church, Norfolk St, Sheffield 1. The preacher will be the Reverend Dr Alan Billings. Fuller details are on the website at www.church-poverty.org.uk/groups/sheffield-1/events/visions

“MY WORLD ROLLS ON” by Beryl Heathcote, whom many of you will know.  A second collection of poems inspired by her family, friends and her experiences and including a lot about Norton Lees and local events. If anyone would like one, (or a copy of her first book,) they’re £5.00 each. Beryl will give £1.00 from each one we sell to church funds. There are samples out in church if you’re interested. Further copies are available from the office.

FOODBANK UPDATE
It was a steady week processing 11 vouchers and 28kg of food (18kg from St Paul’s).  Over the last 6 months 10 tons of food has come from Tesco with a further 3 tons which they have contributed which has given Foodbank good reserves.  Another encouragement has been that CAB have said that they might be able to have a presence on Fridays which would be a great help.  Please pray as the leaders are thinking of opening for a second day each week.

Mike’s Ministry this week:
Mon 2nd – Handsworth Christian (Seniors) & Coit Primary
Tues 3rd - Handsworth Christian (Juniors)
                & St Marie’s RC Academy
Sun 8th – St Paul’s 8.00 am HC & Tapton Hill Congregational
