From Murray
We are beginning to
work through the questionnaires people filled in at Family Worship and I have
seen some very encouraging scores! It is
good to know that what we do at St Paul’s is appreciated. But we can always improve so it will be
interesting when Pam has collated the results to see the areas you think we
could work harder on. Strategy Group
will do some work on results before we report to the next PCC meeting.
DATES

Questions! Questions! will begin on Wednesday 29th
April, 7.30 pm in the Meeting Place. If you have not yet done Questions!

FURTHER REMINDER! -
PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLOSE DOORS as you leave each room to ensure the heat
stays in the room for the group that follows you. Ones to be aware of are the
doors between the Clergy Vestry and Old Vestry, and from the Nave into the OV
corridor. Please pass on this message to members of groups that you are part
of. Thanks
WHAT IS
“VINE TIME”? Well, some of us wanted an
evening service and decided that once a month would fill the gap. It is an
unstructured time of worship with singing, sharing, praying & music, with
times of quiet in between. We meet at 6.00 pm for an hour in the Old Vestry, on
the 3rd Sunday in the month. Anyone who
feels that they need a quiet time with God is welcome to join us. Please see
Jacqui if you’d like to know more.
BRING ME SUNSHINE – a light hearted look at the ups and downs of family
life with Rob Parsons plus special guest John Archer. This hilarious evening of
comedy and inspiration will be held at The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel,
Chesterfield Road South on Tues 3rd March from 7.30 pm to 10.00 pm. Doors open
at 6.45 pm. (Please see the flyers in church) contact www.careforthefamily.org.uk/sunshine
or
phone 02920810800. This looks well worth
going to and it is unusual to have part of their national tour so close to
where we live. Murray
DATE FOR YOUR DIARY
- M.U. EVENT There
will be a meeting on the evening of 10th June from 7.00 to 9.00 pm
which is open to everyone. The Street Pastors will be giving an interesting
talk. N.B. There will be no M.U. meeting
that afternoon. Please see Jacqui if you’d like to know more.
“MY WORLD ROLLS ON” by Beryl, whom
many of you will know. A second
collection of poems - includes a lot about Norton Lees and local events. If
anyone would like one, (or a copy of her first book,) they’re £5.00 each. Beryl
will give £1.00 from each one we sell to church funds. There are samples out in
church if you’re interested. Further copies are available from the office.
AN UPDATE FROM DAVE
GILL
There are two messages this week from Dave Gill and Leila Hunt. You’ll find one
on the back of Link and the other on the back of the reading sheet.
FOODBANK UPDATE Last week was not a busy session because of
the snow. Some volunteers and clients were
not able to get there because of the conditions but 10 vouchers were processed
and St Paul’s share was 16.8 kg. Please
pray for a man seemed very disturbed. He
has a faith but also has mental health issues.
Mike’s Ministry this week:
Sun 8th – St Paul’s 8.00 am HC
& Tapton Hill Congregational
Mon 9th – Charnock Hall Primary
& Firshill Junior
Tues 10th – St Paul’s 10.00 am H.C.
Fri 13th – Lacewood Primary
From Murray
Today I went to Grindleford to see my spiritual director and it was a fantastic
drive over the tops with a lot of snow bathed in glorious sunlight. I sat eating my lunch on the way back with
amazing views across Padley Brook and up to Carl Wark and Higger Tor.
