DEBBIE It is with regret that we have to pass on some sad news this week. Debbie, whom many of our congregation will have known, died on Wednesday afternoon following a long battle with serious illness. The funeral for Debbie will be held at St Paul’s next Wednesday 29th August at 12.15 pm moving on to Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium for 1.30 pm. Those involved with our uniformed organisations especially, will look back at some wonderful times with Debbie and remember her fondly. Your prayers are asked for all the family.

NEWS FROM LIZ AND MIKE It has been a very difficult week in the Warren households too, and your prayers will be very much appreciated.  Liz and Mike have a new grandson, Dexter, who was born on Monday to Liz and Mike’s son Ben, and his wife Marie Clare. It was a very long labour and Dexter was placed in the High Risk group of patients. The good news is that the Consultant said on Tuesday afternoon, that Dexter has now moved to Medium Risk, so they propose to continue the present treatment of keeping him very cool (33degrees) until Friday and then start to warm him up and see what happens. On Friday Dexter was taken off of the ventilator and was breathing on his own, further results will be known next week. Liz and Mike say “There's still a long way to go but he seems to be responding so please keep praying. We love you all and are very grateful that you're standing with us on this.”
THIS WEEK! ALL WELCOME TO OUR BBQ Please see Liz, Jacqui, Barbara Hanson or Church Office for your tickets to the BBQ on Fri 31st Aug at 7pm. Tickets are £4.00 Don’t forget to return the reply slip with your meat choices and please bring your own drinks. There will be bread rolls and salads, and vegetarian and gluten free alternatives are available also.

THANK YOU Helen, Peter, Sam and Lucy would like to express their thanks for the support and kindness from their church family at St Paul’s, on the recent loss of Helen’s Dad. From Murray
We will soon be having our third Back to Church Sunday, so please begin to think and pray about who you might invite and bring along. It should really be on Sunday 30th September, but we already have that day booked for Harrison’s Baptism, so we will hold it the week before on Sunday 23rd and this will be at our 10.00 am service.  We will aim to provide a visitor friendly service with a talk that expresses the heart of what it is to be a Christian. Please pick up a Back to Church Sunday invitation card and fill in.
