THANKSGIVING BOXES for weekly donations are now available for collection from the back of church. Please see Peter (Franklin) if you would like to know more.

NEW YOGA GROUP we have a new group “Gentle Yoga & Relaxation” with Ruth Robson starting on Friday 11th January from 2 - 3.00 pm in the Old Vestry. For now, Ruth aims to keep the group small – please contact Ruth for further details if you’d like to join. Tel. 0114 2680434 Thank you.  Please note: The class will be held in the UH on Fri 25th Jan & Fri 1st Feb only, owing to prior bookings from NTP Driver Training and Best Price Jewellery and Antiques Valuations.

FOOD BANK We are still collecting food donations for the Food Bank based at Gleadless. There’s a box at the back of church for food and thanks to all who’ve given.  We should be hearing more about the Food Bank at Family Service on 20th January.

GROUPS MEETING AT ST PAUL’S It’s helpful if you’re involved with any groups that meet here, if you haven’t already done so, if you can give Joan a list of next year’s meeting dates in writing – a note or email is fine please, to save her having to count them all out for the new diary, and Cathy can make sure the room is heated for you. Thank you.

JANUARY CHURCH ROTA A few copies are left to be collected from the back of church. Feb – Apr to follow shortly. (To make things easier at Christmas time, we are proposing to continue with quarterly rotas beginning in February, so that the last one of the year will be Nov-Jan.) Please check your emails if you’ve requested an electronic copy, or see Ann for inclusion on the email list for next time.

NEWS OF OUR COMMUNITY
SOUTH COMMUNITY ASSEMBLY – PUBLIC MEETING
On Thursday 10th January from 6.30 – 8.30 pm at Ann’s Grove Primary school, Ann’s Road, Heeley S2 3DEJ. For information on how to submit your questions, please see the black folder in the Meeting Place.

Prayer Focus:
Your prayers are asked for people in need throughout the year, as well as at Christmas time. Please pray for the fledgling Heeley Foodbank which was inspired by the Gleadless one we’ve been supporting. Murray heard something on the radio about the amazing job they are doing in Rotherham - we need to support them all we can.

From Murray
A big thank you to everyone who made our Christmas Services a great success again this year – thanks especially  to those who brought family and friends along to our events.  Looking at the attendance figures, we had a few less people at our main Carol Service on 16th December – though having it a week early because of the way Christmas fell could have put a few people off.  The Christmas Eve Family Carol Service was also a bit down on numbers (only about 286!), but we made up for all this with the numbers of people who came to the Carols at the Cross Scythes evening.  It was a great night and people are thinking about how to develop the links we have begun!
