JESUS REDISCOVERED ON WEDNESDAYS!  We have some dates pencilled in for a Lent group to be held in church in the Meeting Place.  This will be using the Jesus Rediscovered material which Murray suggests groups use this year.  They are Wednesdays 20th & 27th February, 6th March (instead of 1st Wednesday Group), then 13th & 20th March.  Jacqui will confirm these dates as soon as possible.

Prayer Focus:
We pray this week for all who are in hospital and those who care for them.
Robert asks us to pray for the Food Bank volunteers to have the strength to listen without judgement, and to be supportive and demonstrate understanding. He asks us to pray that the volunteers will feel able to put the problems they hear about into God’s hands, and should not feel that they have to shoulder them alone. Pray also that the difficulties being experienced by the people using the Food Banks will soon be alleviated.

From Murray
I came across this prayer and thought it might be a good one for us to focus on in Lent this year. Why not cut it out and put it somewhere you will see it!

Strengthen for service, Lord,
the hands that have taken holy things;
may the ears which have heard your word
be deaf to clamour and dispute;
may the tongues which have sung your praise
be free from deceit;
may the eyes which have seen
the tokens of your love
shine with the light of hope;
and may the bodies which have been nourished
with your body and blood
be refreshed with the fullness of your life;
glory to you for ever. Amen
