MESSY CHURCH For your diary: It was disappointing Shrove Tuesday Pancake Messy Church had to be cancelled owing to the failure of the church heating, but please take a note of the dates for the next two. Good Friday Messy Church will be held on 29th March at 10 am to 12 noon and Pentecost Eve Messy Church will be on Sat 18th May from 10 am to 12.30 pm.

STARTS THIS WEEK - LENT COURSE 2013 ‘JESUS REDISCOVERED’ The Tuesday Derbyshire Lane Group will meet on 19th & 26th February, and also on 5th, 12th & 26th March for this year’s Lent Course. (As 19th March is a PCC night, the 5th & last session of the Lent Course has been moved to 26th March.)

FRIDAY YOGA Regrettably, because of a poor response, the new “Gentle Yoga & Relaxation” with Ruth Robson on Fridays has been cancelled.

STARTS THIS WEEK - JESUS REDISCOVERED ON WEDNESDAYS!  We have some dates pencilled in for a Lent group to be held in church in the Meeting Place.  This will be using the Jesus Rediscovered material which Murray suggests groups use this year.  They are Wednesdays 20th & 27th February, 6th March (instead of 1st Wednesday Group), then 13th & 20th March.  Jacqui will confirm these dates as soon as possible.

SCOUT GROUP CENTENARY The 46th Sheffield St Paul’s Scout Group celebrates its centenary in 2014. Were you or one of your family or friends part of the group at any point? If so, Terry Biglands would love to hear from you in connection with the planned celebrations. You can contact Terry on 2551979. Events planned include an Open Weekend at the Scout Hall, Welby Place (probably mid-May 2014) and also a service with Bishop Peter.

PEARL EARRING found in OV. Please call at the office

LATEST SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS NEWSLETTER from Inspector Ian Stubbs is in the black Community folder in the Meeting Place.

Prayer Focus:
We continue to pray for all who are ill and those who care for them

FOOD BANK   Donations of packet food for Heeley Food Bank are warmly welcomed- there’s a box at the back of church for your gifts.
Robert asks us to pray for the Food Bank volunteers to have the strength to listen without judgement, and to be supportive and demonstrate understanding. He asks us to pray that the volunteers will feel able to put the problems they hear about into God’s hands, and should not feel that they have to shoulder them alone. Pray also that the difficulties being experienced by the people using the Food Banks will soon be alleviated.

Mike’s Ministry
Sun 17th - St Paul’s 8.00 am H.C. & 10.00 am H.C.
Sun 24th – St Paul’s 10.00 am H.C.

From Murray
I came across this prayer and thought it might be a good one for us to focus on in Lent this year. Why not cut it out and put it somewhere you will see it!

Strengthen for service, Lord,
the hands that have taken holy things;
may the ears which have heard your word
be deaf to clamour and dispute;
may the tongues which have sung your praise
be free from deceit;
may the eyes which have seen
the tokens of your love
shine with the light of hope;
and may the bodies which have been nourished
with your body and blood
be refreshed with the fullness of your life;
glory to you for ever. Amen
