MESSY CHURCH For your diary: Please take a note of the dates for the
next two. Good Friday Messy Church will be held on 29th March at 10
am to 12 noon & Pentecost Eve Messy Church will be on Sat 18th
May from 10am-12.30 pm.
LENT COURSE
2013 ‘JESUS REDISCOVERED’ The Tuesday Derbyshire Lane Group will meet again on 26th
Feb, and also on 5th, 12th & 26th March
for this year’s Lent Course. (As 19th March is a PCC night, the 5th
& last session of the Lent Course has been moved to 26th March.)
T.B.C. - JESUS
REDISCOVERED ON WEDNESDAYS! The Lent group being held in
church in the Meeting Place will be using the Jesus Rediscovered material which
Murray suggests groups use this year. Dates
are Wednesdays 27th February, 6th March (instead of 1st Wednesday
Group), then 13th & 20th March. Please see Jacqui for info.
HOME GROUP AT
LIZ & MIKE’S The dates for the remaining Lent sessions at
Liz & Mike’s are 27th February, then 6th, 13th
& 20th March. Please
note: If you are unable to attend a session at one of the above groups, all
groups are using the same material, so please feel free to “catch up” with
another group.
SCOUT GROUP
CENTENARY The 46th
Sheffield St Paul’s Scout Group celebrates its centenary in 2014. Were you or
one of your family or friends part of the group at any point? If so, Terry
Biglands would love to hear from you in connection with the planned
celebrations. You can contact Terry on 2551979. Events planned include an Open
Weekend at the Scout Hall, Welby Place (probably mid-May 2014) and also a service
with Bishop Peter.
FRIDAY YOGA Regrettably, the new “Gentle Yoga &
Relaxation” on Fridays has been cancelled.
MUSIC LISTENING GROUP are
considering moving their meetings from the Old Vestry into the Meeting Place
for ease of access. This will be on the 2nd and 4th
Thursday evenings, so church members are requested to use another entrance
please.
UPPER HALL Can groups doing craft
activities in the Upper Hall please put paintings and craftwork in the store
cupboard to dry out, or use a sheet of newspaper underneath if you use the
window sills. During half term Ken has been busy painting the Upper Hall and
cleaning inside all the radiator covers and we’d like to keep it looking good!
CLEANING CHURCH FOR SPRING Please be
thinking about whether you can spare a Saturday morning on 23rd
March at 10.00 am to come and help with washing out cupboards, general tidying
etc. and let Ken know.
Prayer Focus: We continue to pray for
all who are ill and those who care for them.
FOOD BANK Donations of packet food for Heeley Food
Bank are warmly welcomed- there’s a box at the back of church for your gifts. Robert asks us to pray for the Food Bank
volunteers to have the strength to listen without judgement, and to be
supportive and demonstrate understanding. He asks us to pray that the
volunteers will feel able to put the problems they hear about into God’s hands,
and should not feel that they have to shoulder them alone. Pray also that the
difficulties being experienced by the people using the Food Banks will soon be
alleviated.
