FROM GAIL Could all those that are going on the coach for my Licensing at Doncaster Minster on Saturday 21st September please pay the £8 as soon as they can? Please give the money to Sue Rice as I’m not going to be at church next Sunday. Thanks, Gail

CROSS SCYTHES PIE NIGHT   This happens monthly and the next one is on Tuesday 17th September.  Some of us plan to go, if you want to join us, see you there from      6.30 pm.  Pie, peas and a drink costs £8.00.

PRAYER DAY AT LONGSHAW A  few people asked about the lunch which can be provided at Longshaw but there were not enough to make up an order.  So please bring a packed lunch if you can or go down to the café for lunch (there will give a reasonable generous time for lunch but it can be rather busy).  And if there any more late bookings for the day, Murray will need to know by Sunday 8th (today) so that he can print the right amount of materials etc.

CONFIRMATION EVENING ON MONDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER There are three people from St Paul’s who will be Confirmed this year.  Please pray for Jon, Glynis and Russell and be there to support them that evening at St James’ Church.  In preparation for this Russell is going to be Baptised in our 10.00 am Communion service today, Sunday 8th September.  I gave him the choice of being  Baptised by Bishop Peter Burrows at his Confirmation but he chose
St Paul’s so that he could be amongst his Christian family, and who was I to stand in his way!

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY – 29TH SEPTEMBER AT 10 AM The invitation cards are now out for this important service when we are encouraged to invite people to join us for worship.  It will be a Morning Worship service (without Communion) and Murray will be preaching.  You will need to fill in the details of the date and time to give to those you invite and keep the back of the card as a reminder of who you have invited so that you can pray for them.  Following the service Murray will start another series of Questions! Questions! on Wed  9th October at 7.30 pm in church.

HARVEST FAMILY WORSHIP will be held at 10.00 am on Sunday 20th October and HARVEST MESSY CHURCH is on 19th October.  Then on 14th December it will be Christingle Messy Church (Both are Saturdays from 10am - 12.30pm) including lunch. Do invite children and parents & carers and if you can help, please let Sarah, Pete or Ann know.

ST PAUL’S AUTUMN MEMORIAL SERVICE will also be held on Sunday 20th October at 6.00 pm. Invitations will be sent out nearer the date, but if you know of anyone who would appreciate an invitation, please ask them to get in touch with us with their contact details. Thanks

SHOEBOX APPEAL 2013 This year’s Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox Appeal will run from 1st to 18th November, when once again St Paul’s will be acting as a Drop-Off Point. Our service will be held on Sunday 17th November at 10.00 am during Family Worship.
